Jack M. Wilson - Presidential Scholarship Fund
A Call to Public Service
The Jack M. Wilson Presidential Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 to provide special recognition to University of Massachusetts undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for public service. Six $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2012 – 2013 academic year.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be currently enrolled at one of the UMass campuses or be currently studying online and enrolled for at least (6)credits in an academic program through UMassOnline.
- Have an overall GPA of 3.25, with a minimum of (15) credits earned at UMass.
- Preference for Business, Engineering and Physics majors & for students of any major studying abroad.
The scholarship is awarded for one year. A GPA of 3.25 and full-time enrollment status at one of the UMass campuses or enrollment in (6) credits in an academic program through UMassOnline must be maintained throughout the duration of the scholarship. Eligible students may apply for a second year, but renewal of the award is not guaranteed.
Nomination & Selection Process
Each campus & UMassOnline will manage the recruitment and selection of their recipient(s) for the scholarship.
Distribution
The UMass Foundation will provide scholarship amount available each year to the campuses & UMassOnline.

Rosalind A. Matthews Scholarship
The Rosalind A. Matthews Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1988 to honor the late Rosalind A. Matthews, a former Trustee of the University of Massachusetts. The Fund provides an annual $1,000 scholarship award for up to four years with the purpose of encouraging disadvantaged students to pursue an education that leads to a career in business.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be an admitted freshman or a transfer student admitted to the participating undergraduate campuses, including UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth or UMass Lowell.
- Be enrolled in the School of Management.
- Be a resident of Massachusetts.
- Have an overall GPA of 3.25.
There will be one Rosalind A. Matthews Scholar per campus per year. For renewal of the scholarship, Rosalind A. Matthews Scholars must maintain eligibility requirements.

Each campus will recruit and select a recipient for the scholarship.

William M. Bulger - Presidential Scholarship
The University of Massachusetts (UMass) is offering five $5,000 scholarships to provide recognition of and financial assistance to five outstanding students. The scholarships will be awarded for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Currently enrolled full-time at one of the UMass campuses
- Must have an overall GPA of 3.25 with a minimum of 12 credits earned at UMass.
- Be a permanent resident of Massachusetts
- Open to all majors
- Submit application & a 500-word essay on “Who in your life has been your biggest influence and why?”
The scholarship is awarded for one year and is renewable for up to three years. A GPA of 3.25 and full-time enrollment status must be maintained throughout the duration of the scholarship.
Recruitment & Selection Process
Each campus will recruit applicants for the scholarship. Campuses will make recommendations and mail recommended applications to the UMass Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.

Putnam UMass Scholars Program
The University of Massachusetts is offering 2 scholarships to be awarded to sophomore, junior or senior level students for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Eligibility requirements:
- Currently enrolled full time at UMass Lowell, Dartmouth, Boston or Amherst
- A matriculated undergraduate student in Fall 2012
- Have an overall GPA of 3.0
Application Deadline: Selection completed for 2012-2013, check back in February 2013 for 2013-2014.
Grace K. Fey Scholarship
The University of Massachusetts is offering one $1,500. Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a sophomore for the 2012-2013 academic year and is renewable contingent upon maintaining the requirements.
Eligibility requirements:
- Currently enrolled full time at UMass Lowell, Dartmouth, Boston or Amherst
- Resident of Massachusetts
- A matriculated sophomore in Fall 2012
- Have an overall GPA of 3.5 earned at UMass
- Open to all majors with preference given to mathematics, sciences & nursing

Charles D. Baker II Scholarship
This scholarship has been established by his grandson, Charles D. Baker IV, to honor the memory of his grandfather who, despite experiencing significant hardship in his life, approached each day and each challenge in life with persistence, optimism, and grace. Charles D. Baker II never had the opportunity to pursue higher education but served his country with distinction and ensured that each of his children completed college studies.
Eligibility requirements:
- Currently enrolled full time at UMass Lowell, Worcester, Dartmouth, Boston or Amherst
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Permanent resident of Massachusetts and a U.S. citizen
- Open to all majors
